Privacy Policy

This policy explains what this site collects when you send a request, why it collects it, who it goes to and how long it is kept. It is written to be read rather than skimmed past.

What we collect

The request form asks for your name, phone number, email address, the address of the property, its city and state, your ZIP code, and a description of what you are looking to replace. It may also ask two or three multiple choice questions about the system you have now. The name, phone number, email address, property address and ZIP code are all required, because those are what a contractor needs before they can tell you whether they can help, and the email address is what lets us put an answer in writing rather than only over the phone. The form also carries a hidden field that human visitors never see and never fill in. If it comes back filled in, the submission is discarded as automated spam.

Where you arrived from

The form records how you reached this site: the campaign, source, medium, content and search term in the link you followed, the site that referred you, the first page you landed on, and any advertising click identifier in the address. It is the FIRST of those we keep, not the most recent, so moving around this site does not overwrite it. It is held in your browser for the length of your visit and travels with your request so we can tell which of our own pages actually helps people. It contains nothing about you.

Why the ZIP code is required

Contractor coverage in this county is drawn by town, and permits for heating and cooling work are issued by the city, town or village the property sits in rather than by the county. Without a ZIP code a request cannot be matched to anyone who can lawfully do the work at that address, so it would sit and do nothing. That is the whole reason the field is mandatory.

The property address

The address is used for one thing: getting the right contractor to the right building. A ZIP code says who can reach you. The address says which house, which lets a contractor check what is on record for that street before they arrive and price the job against the building rather than against a guess. It is held, shared and deleted on exactly the same terms as everything else described here, and it is never written into our error logs, which record only whether an address was given.

Who your details go to

Your request goes into GoHighLevel, the customer relationship system we use to track a job from first contact through to completion. If that system cannot be reached, the request is emailed to us instead so that nothing is lost. From there we pass your details to the contractor or contractors we introduce you to, so that they can contact you about the work you asked about. We do not sell your details, we do not trade them, and we do not add you to marketing lists that have nothing to do with your request.

How long it is kept

Requests are kept for as long as they are useful to the job you asked about and to any follow up arising from it, and are then deleted from our system. If you want your request deleted sooner, ask and it will be. A contractor you were introduced to keeps their own record under their own terms, and deleting ours does not delete theirs, so ask them directly as well.

Cookies, analytics and tracking

This site is built as static pages. It runs no analytics product, no advertising pixel and no third-party tracking script, and it sets no advertising cookies. The attribution described above is held in your own browser's session storage and is sent only when you submit the form. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's font servers when a page loads. Ordinary server logs record requests in the usual way. If we ever add a measurement tool, this section is where it will be named before it runs.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. You can also tell any contractor you are introduced to that you do not wish to be contacted again, and that instruction stands on its own.
